I noticed blood on the tile in the kitchen so began checking the dogs paws to see which one punctured a pad. Then checked Bella to see if she started her doggy period. Bingo! I knew she was getting close because our friends who own Bella's sister said Coco went into heat when she was Bella's age. Coco was born the in the litter before Bella. They gave us the idea to put the underwear on with the tail through the hole.

Summer Barbecue
We had a wonderful time at the Summer Barbecue we hosted at our house last weekend. It was so nice to spend time with my Aunt Becky and Uncle Chris and their son Jordan. Their other son Jacob was at a summer camp. Grandma came up with them and they brought their beagle. Brandy and Ray brought their lab Willy. All the dogs has a wonderful time playing in the yard. The new deck worked out wonderfully! We all sat out there in the evening visiting and eating cake.
Fourth of July Camping
Over the Fourth of July we went camping with some friends and family up on the Brittenbush river by Detriot Lake. We went into the town of Detriot to watch th Fireworks over the lake. We had Riley last year and he sat in the car under the seat scared of the noise. He did the same this year but was not as scared. Bella just sat on Darles lap sleeping and sometimes turning her head to look at them. What a good girl! At home if we accedently kick the garbage can she bolts away. Go figure.

Birthday After Birthday and More to Come
In May we Darle's family up to our house for her Birthday. That is her poodle, Toby.

June brought our nephew Andrew's 12th birthday. Darle and I made him a Boston Red Sox Baseball icecream cake. The dinner was at the Olive Garden.

This was the Raspberry Icecream cake we made for Dad (Jack), Becky and Jordan Mesa's Birthdays this past weekend. Dad's birthday was on the 6th. Becky and Jordan were at our house on their birthday which was the 11th.

The next day on the 12th we celebrated our nephew Isaiah's 4th birthday. He had a WALL-E themed birthday so Darle and I spent hours on this WALL-E cake. You can kind of see the Disney charachter on Isaiah's shirt. We got him an old school, original looking, Big Wheel.

Home Improvements
Over the past 9 months, since we have owned the house, we have done many home improvement projects. We knew when we bought the house there were some things we wanted to change and make our own. The biggest improvement was the flooring. As of two weeks ago, all of the flooring has been replaced with either tile or carpet, except for the upstairs bathroom and the master bathroom. Here are the before and after photos.

Another View. Darle built a small lattice frame on one side for a little extra privacy and it gives it a little charachter too.

This is looking intot the master bedroom with the old carpet. The dark spot in the carpet close to the bed is where Riley picked at the carpet. Since it was a looped carpet it pulled up a huge patch.

With new carpet

This is looking down into the Dining room and Living room with the old carpet. Notice the old pink tile in the entry and arount the fire place.

And now with the new carpet.

The family room was really bad with staining. You can see where the people who owned the house before set a hot iron on the carpet.
